The room was very old fashioned with bedspreads and blankets but very clean and well looked after. Lots of rules regarding where to put your walking poles, walking shoes and keeping your pack off the bed which was good. The bathroom is large with limited hot water.

All communication was done through google translate.

The room was incredibly cold, the host said the heating would not turn on unless the temperature dropped. The heating never turned on despite the 7 degree temperature, I needed to sleep in a jumper, beanie and gloves as well as my sleeping clothes.

The host recommended a bar for lunch, Don Camino. We couldn't see it and were too tired to search for too long so we went to the open bar we could see. When we returned the host became aggressive with us talking in Spanish which I then asked her to say again into my google translate, 'where have you been, I rang Don Camino and you have not been there, why'. We did go to Don Camino for dinner, we had a nice pizza.

The next morning we left the room tidy as we always do. That night we received a message from bookings.com, the host had made a complaint about us accusing us of leaving litter on the ground and flooding the room and required us to pay 180 euros for damages. In fact we were very careful to take all litter with us and dispose of it in the village bin and as the shower is over the bathtub I have no idea how we could have possibly flooded the floor.

We have stayed in many accommodations all over the world and never have been accused of any damage or uncleanliness and certainly would never treat anyone's property poorly. All we can think is she was angry with us as we didn't go to Don Camino for lunch and we asked for heating.

Whilst the accommodation is clean, be very careful.

The host was extremely welcoming. Rooms were clean and nice. Shower was great!

I want to thank my host for a great experience. She was very welcoming and made my visit to this town very special. I recommend that anyone walking the Camino should consider staying at Infanta Dona Leonor.
