Notez que l'albergue se trouve en fait à Bendueños, à 1,5 km de marche en montée. D'ordinaire, Sandra est prête à descendre en voiture pour venir vous chercher, mais à partir de mai 2022, ses problèmes de voiture pourraient rendre cela impossible. Dans tous les cas, appelle-la avant d'arriver... de préférence la veille.

Well worth the stop. The hospitalera said that in recent times she’d encountered a few people who weren’t happy - I’m guessing they’d previously stayed in private accommodation and hotels. So here’s what you get, to clear up expectations:

1) a decent bed for the night
2) a fridge stocked with drinks, plus bottled water and wine
3) bread, butter, jam, fruit, biscuits/cookies etc, tea, coffee and herbal teas as much as you’d like (there was even Yorkshire tea)
4) we received two “family” style meals - home cooked food. Simple but tasty.
5) washing machine (I used the extra spin cycle to ensure everything dried)

Better than most of the municipals, but obviously not up to the standards of a hotel and a restaurant meal! The most important thing was the amazing welcome.

When leaving Herias you climb a hill leaving the village. Be very careful after about 200m there is a very small opening on your right, which isn't very clearly marked. This is the way to Campomanes, down a very steep descent.
