Arroyo de los Zahurdones

The Road

La puerta de acceso a los campos municipales de Berrocal suele estar cerrada. Si lo está, busca a la derecha una entrada independiente para excursionistas. El camino desde aquí hasta Almadén discurre por caminos y senderos agrícolas. Desciende hasta el Arroyo de los Zahurdones (4,7 km) e incluye una subida especialmente empinada (pero corta) hasta el Cerro del Calvario (6,4 km). Desde allí desciende a Almadén.

There's a little booth by the park gate. Has a bench and a bin 😀 Ideal place to shelter ftom the sun - or the rain, in our case.

This in the only water point on the way to Almaden de la Plata. Site, drink lots and refill your water here

While this seems the simpler part of this stage, it can be draining. Your walking on the road, probably in the early hours to avoid the heat, and it just keeps going with little to break it up. While no big climbs there is a constant up and and down effect (mostly up).
