O Porriño

Notice

El paseo hacia O Porriño puede hacerse por la carretera principal o por el río, y de nuevo hay montones de flechas y advertencias conflictivas pintadas por todas partes. La división se produce inmediatamente después de pasar por debajo de la autopista, y la nueva ruta alternativa por el río requiere girar inmediatamente a la izquierda. La distancia a la ciudad es la misma.

We took the river route today at the end of the walk into O Porrino and regretted it. It felt isolated and a bit unsafe, plus they are digging it up in places so not easy to traverse.
Would suggest the approved alternative route marker is followed after you go under the bridge.

Their are several places along this route to take your shoes off and enjoy the river. After a long day of walking the cool water was refreshing.

I don't think the river route is the same distance as the standard route. The signboard at the start suggests it is longer by about 1.5 km. Having now done both, the river routeIt is much nicer, and well worth doing.

On the far edge of town there is a wonderful pilgrims and locals cafe, called San Campio, with omelettes, sandwiches and salads. Great music. Perfect rest stop before the last 3-4 IMS into O Porrino.
