Cirauqui se encuentra encaramado en la cima de una pequeña colina y parece que dondequiera que vayas cuesta arriba. A la entrada de la ciudad hay una cruz medieval y en la parte superior de la ciudad se encuentra la Iglesia de San Román, la plaza y un albergue.

No olvide sellar sus credenciales bajo el arco.

El Día de la Cruz es el 14 de septiembre, con una celebración del 13 al 19.

History

Las excavaciones en los alrededores han dado rastros de un asentamiento romano; un milaro de 2000 años de antigüedad se conserva en la Iglesia de San Román, y el camino para salir de la ciudad es sobre un puente romano.

Llegamos aquí mojados y congelados, y estamos absolutamente encantados con Casa Maralotx. Juan hace que todo sea fácil, desde el check-in hasta el acceso al wifi, y las amenidades son excelentes: terraza en el piso superior con tendederos y vista de la iglesia enfrente, con máquina de bebidas calientes y mesas de picnic. Tenemos una habitación privada, así que no puedo hablar de los dormitorios, pero nuestra habitación tiene todo lo que necesitamos y detalles encantadores: chocolates de bienvenida, café/té (y minúsculos magdalenas con chispas de chocolate en las tazas 😊). Nos estamos dando el lujo de lavar y secar nuestra ropa sucia porque todo se siente húmedo después de pasar la noche pasada en un albergue sin calefacción tras un día lluvioso. ¡No podríamos estar más felices con Casa Maralotx!

Este albergue está ahora abierto. Me hospedé aquí en agosto y es un gran lugar en un hermoso pueblo histórico. Cena de peregrino, desayuno y lavandería (tanto lavadora como lavado a mano) disponibles. Definitivamente es un parada que vale la pena y la única opción entre Puenta La Reina-Gares y Lorca.

Amazing hospitality by Juan and his wife. Outstanding pilgrims dinner in the “cave” of the Albergue. Cute little “bar area” in reception. Patio “hang out” on second floor. Never a line for showers or toilets even though Albergue full. But don’t miss how beautiful the location is! At top of the hill in Ciriqui, right by the old church with its bells. The starling songs and views are magnificent. Just a great experience added to our Camino. Try to make a stop here

Juan, the hospitaliero, is great. The albergue is clean and spacious. Yes, there are not that many showers and toilets. However, the beds are more comfortable and less noisy than at any albergue so far.
The communal dinner was delicious (salad with apple und walnuts; chickpea and mushroom stew; vanilla pudding) and definitely not your usual pilgrims dinner.
Definitely worth a stay!

Juan looked after us from the first moment we walked in with serious blisters! Everything was handled with enthusiasm and efficiency. Albergue spotless, chill out patio/deck really nice. Pilgrim Dinner absolutely superb and cap it all Juan rode his back on into town to make sure the patient was OK!

Juan was amazing! He did everything from checking us in, getting drinks and cooking our delicious pilgrims communal dinner in the cellar

Loved the Albergue. We had a great communal meal there. The bar is small but is a nice place to catch up with people we saw on the way.

Hey, winter pilgrims! Finally a small town with an open bar for your rest stop. Bar Sociedad San Lorenzo. can be found after the first long climb up the walkway in town. Near the top is a shell pointing left. There is also a sign showing "BAR" 10 meters to the right. Great friendly service and HOT cafe con leche.
