Pequeña tienda dentro del albergue. El pueblo es bastante pequeño, solo 40 personas. Tres de las familias se ganan la vida produciendo Queixo de Cebreiro, que se puede degustar en el bar del albergue.

Casa Galego was among my best stays on the entire Camino Frances. Incredibly modern, well appointed, and clean, with flexible food service and full laundry. I got a massive green salad full of fresh veggies I had been missing the whole way until then, and the communal dinner served the most tender and tasty beef I had the whole way as well.

But the highlight is the hosts who really care about their guests. I was there October 8, 2024 as tropical storm Kirk was lashing the region, and our hosts made sure every single guest had safe passage to their next destination whether it was Triacasta, Samos, or Sarria.

Wise Pilgrim, please add Casa Galego to your accomodations list for Fonfria. You’d be doing all your users a service.

Hands down the best albergue we stayed during our camino. This is extremely well run, can book via WA, hot showers, and has a very cozy feeling to it.

We absolutely loved this place and slept like babies after a long day.

Food is great too with many veg friendly options. Try the local cow cheese!

I stopped at this establishment to wait 2 hours before I caught a Monbus at the stop just below it on the road. The owner was wonderful and helped me locate the stop, gave me ice for my sore knee and was so kind to everyone that stopped in. It appears a brand new establishment, that is very modern and clean. I can’t thank the owner enough for her kindness to a pilgrim!

I agree with all the comments on Casa Galego! Beautiful place, the owner will make any food you like, and there is laundry. A must on the Camino!

Closed until 2024 season starts, but just wanted to say that we had a great experience, comfortable, clean room, but the icing on the cake was the communal dinner. At this stage you will likely know many people and have a great, social experience. The hosts made a real effort. Definitely recommended.

Every comment written and made about Casa Galego is spot on. We loved our stay here. Luxury at a reasonable price. Come on Wise Pilgrim - please add this one to you list of recommendations. You've been asked numerous times. Fellow pilgrims are missing out.

Leaving the town there is an old woman (seemingly) giving out fresh made crepes. She makes them seem free, but asks for money once you take one. It’s not clear how much they are, but she told one of our friends €3 for a small crepe with cheese. Even our friends who are always looking out for scams got got.

It's not on the list but amazing experience for really low price. Private rooms are beautiful and clean and so comfortable with amazing views, probably my favorite 'luxury' experience on the Camino for the price of just a regular albergue! Highly recommend as it's the last high point on the Camino from here on and it's a great place to take some time and get away from the crowd, relax and enjoy. The ladies running the place are angels and so kind and sweet. They didn't speak English but I used Google translate. They've got great strong wi-fi. Only down side is sometimes power goes out during storms but it's not common

Lovely people, comfortable facilities, scrambled eggs and local (farm next door) cheese. Excellent Communal dinner in a cool building with conical thatched roof.
