The Road

Hay algunos tramos de carretera por delante, justo antes de llegar a Acebo, que son accidentados y resbaladizos en clima húmedo.

Had a sign up today ‘temporary closed, sorry’. Not sure for how long.
Around the corner was a guy selling drinks in an interesting hut😉

There is a shack a bit farther down the road that has water, beer, Coke, instant coffee (no milk) and tea.

Oh well. I was hoping for my second cafe con leche.

The path starts off as a regular path with a few wet spots. It then becomes a bit rougher on the descent with a lot of loose rock in the path which could be potentially slippery and maybe dangerous when wet. However, it is not as steep as the elevation profile would have you imagine. There is also no point where using both hands and feet would be necessary.

What a welcoming smile the owner of the food truck had for us. The best ham & cheese toastie was consumed.
Note: cash only

A lady has done a nice job of setting up an area to eat/rest. Drinks, food ,assorted snacks, reasonable prices. However the village of Manjarin simply does not exist anymore; it looks like a bomb hit the place. Keep going to El Acebo which is beautiful.

A lovely fire greeted us today. We sat by the fire in a super shelter with lovely views. Drinking hot coffee with pilgrims from around the world.

Coffeeplace in a caravan on the top of the mountain. Run by a very nice lady - serves toast, coffee, cake, juice, water

If you’re used to stopping for some coffee or a stamp, Tomas has closed the refugio for renovations. Next town is Acebo.
