Un pueblo agradable pero pequeño con una peculiar mezcla de albergues. Bar Alquimista es una parada amistosa si estás de paso, y también hacen una cena decente.

The Road

A las afueras de la ciudad, a su izquierda y probablemente oscurecido por la hierba alta, se encuentra una de las hazañas de ingeniería más pequeñas de San Juan de Ortega. Solo se necesita un palmo para cruzar el diminuto río Vena.

The food was a true culinary delight. Everything is fresh and the flavors are incredible. The Angel crying on your tongue is not an exaggeration. The couple that run it are amazing and the place is the perfect ambiance. I will propose to my next wife over a Rustica Burger and glass of wine from Rioja.

Seconding the other post about this gem of a restaurant. Delicious homemade food. Had a wonderful homemade dinner. Breakfast available at 7ish for pilgrims. Lovely people.

Second the recommendation for el alquimista. Had the chicken. It was excellent. The lady was very nice and funny, even with my spotty spanish

Highly recommend eating at bar alquimista. The food was all home made and delicious. Pilgrim menu €11. And the lady who does the cooking is such a character!
