Se dice que los hornos que producían cal para la construcción de la Catedral estaban aquí en Castañeda. Los peregrinos llevaron las materias primas aquí desde Triacastela y las cambiaron por cal que llevaron a Santiago.

Es cuesta arriba una vez más, seguido de un descenso constante hacia el valle de abajo, empinado en puntos.

We stopped here early and really enjoyed sipping drinks while watching the other pilgrims pass by on a sunny afternoon. The habitacion privado was basic but spacious, as was the bath. We were delighted to do a load of laundry in a machine. A great value that has what you need.

The No Pilgrim bar is not that great. Overpriced and food is marginal. Keep walking a little ways to next town. Beautiful spots there. May 2023

Camino de Sant…

This is a great place to stop for a coffee, play the guitar, spend the night or just have a pilgrim chat. All donativo and a unique experience. Most recommendable!
