Nice place! Not far from the city center.
Separate beds, with your own closet ect👍
Labyrint and park in front of the building:)

The albergue is pretty amazing. Beds in shared dorms are now 23€ though. September 2025.

Albergue gigante con todas las facilidades.
Tiene una cocina gigante, gran salón, pequeña cafetería, lavandería, habitaciones grandes para compartir y también privadas. Tiene un pequeño colmado donde comprar comida y bebida.

Huge hostel of course but still really quite since it is a bit uphill and therefore not near any busy street.
The private room for 1 person was 28€ - in other Albergue that is what you pay for a bed in the dormitory.
The receptionist were really nice and explained everything I needed with me in English and joked with with me for a bit. Checking in can take a while because it I only 2 receptionists for more than 200 people staying there so maybe bring some time.
You will have a wonderful view at Santiago.
They have what they call a supermarket in the basement but it is more like an expensive kiosk. So it is ok for a snack or breakfast which they offered but otherwise go to a real supermarket.
I would definitely recommend this Albergue if you want to have a little bit of quiet and privacy after arriving in Santiago

It's not the norm
I don't know her name
One of those mysterious things--she was so rude and uncaring towards me.
Not so if you were spanish, I noted.
I held my grace thanks to the camino.

I cancelled my third day
So...that was my choice
Ita good location
Clean

This place is huge. Feels a bit institutional, but very good as far as hostels go. Clean; efficient check-in; nice bath and showers; good grocery and common area in the basement. Location somewhat removed from middle of town, but still recommended.

I stayed in single room, shared bathroom. You have a basin in the room and small window.

If you need to go cathedral and city centre frequently (especially in summer), you will get sweaty as it is 20mins walk one way, up and down the hill.

Downstairs come with laundry, canteen, shop and cooking area. I recommend to get food from city centre, e.g. Carrefour express. Then you can save money doing own cooking.

We stayed in 2M - 006 .
My wife was awakened by the bugs crawling on her at 3:00.
We found about 20 bugs in the room and left it immediately. Washed and dried all our clothes before leaving the Albergue .

Huge facility with single beds in the dormitory and offers single rooms too. Clean. Not too far from the train station (20 min walk). To get around the building takes awhile because it’s so big. The basement floor has a shop, the kitchen and laundry area. The floors above feel like a 1950’s hospital or sanitarium. This place has spooky vibes. I would stay here again but I wish I’d been told that this place felt like it could be haunted. I guess that’s what people mean when they say ‘historical’.

Location is fab- 22€ per night for a shared dorm - I finished my Camino 3 days ahead of schedule so stayed here at the end till my flight

The staff on reception are awesome and will help with anything - Lisa in particular is an angel
There are a few washers and dryers but it’s like laundry wars as there’s a lot of people and not really a way to queue your loads up - however there’s a launderette just round the corner what’s only 3€
