SPLIT: Alternative Route über Huarte oder dem Camino folgen

Am Picknickplatz neben der Straße kannst du dein eigenes Abenteuer wählen. Die meisten Wanderer gehen weiter und aufwärts. Du kannst dem Fluss auch auf einer alternativen Route nach Huarte (albergue municipal, alle Dienstleistungen) und weiter nach Pamplona (unter Umgehung von Trinidad de Arre, Villava und Burlada) folgen, wobei du den Fluss rechts hältst. Diese Route ist geringfügig länger als die andere, umgeht aber den sehr offensichtlichen Anstieg von hier aus.

It’s nice to take the river route for the first few kilometers but check the map before or after Huarte where you can switch to the original route. There’s very few yellow arrows on the river route and it’s indeed much longer if you follow it all the way to Pamplona

Camino de Sant…

Oh man, this is a confusing road. Unless you’ve got a good GPS map and you’re using it a lot, I’d recommend the climb instead. There’s two paths on this detour, the river route to Pamplona (which is much much longer), and then a few arrows to Santiago. When you get to Huarte, there are a few yellow arrows on buildings like the rest of the path this far, then there are yellow chevrons on the ground, which I’m still not sure I should have followed, as they lease you to the center of the town. I was able to continue there to the river and follow it (along with my GPS app).
