“Fair”. What a wonderful word. 8 billion people and as many definitions. Same as “spirit of camino”. What is it exactly? Maybe this is a discussion for the way instead of comments.

P.S IMHO last 100 km is very different from the rest of the Camino, the difference is in perception

P.S.S I agree with the comment from the 15th May :)

The alburgue no longer had space for me so I took casa das aires owned by the same people just a minute down the road. It is a private room with a shared bathroom. The bed itself is one of the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in in my 60 years of life! Every single spring can be felt. I definitely do not recommend this if you can find any other option.

The extra few kilometres beyond Sarria brings you to this wonderful place. It has a well run bar and kitchen with an a la carte menu that goes well beyond the standard pilgrim offering for very little more money. Staff are friendly and generous. The pool area is up behind the accommodation so is discrete from The Way which passes immediately in front of one of the dormitory style buildings. The closest to the path has 8 beds in each room which is a good number that keeps things friendly and personal. Everything was spotless and the rooms have heating although it was not necessary at the time I visited. Because it is so close to the way it can get busy as the Sarria arrivals clash with morning departures and breakfasting guests from the albergue.
My only criticism is the coffee was not from an espresso type machine so much more the American style boiled coffee. Still one of the best stays along The Way at the same price as much lesser offerings. I only wish I had time to stay longer.

I agree that the comment is not in the spirit of the Camino. We are all tourists here.

The comment of 15 May, 2023 which refers to ‘gawdawful tourists that ruin the last 100km walk’ should be removed as it is not in the spirit of this site or the Camino.

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

If you want to jump ahead of the gawdful Sarria tourists that ruin the last 100 km walk an extra 3k and sleep here

If you want to stay in a memorable albergue which gives lots of chances to meet other pilgrims, this is it. Along with the lovely pool, gardens and cafe, it’s very laid back and guests naturally strike up conversations. Plus you leave in the morning ahead of the crowd from Sarria.
