Wegbeschreibung

A most charming rural bed-and-breakfast run by hostess Mercedes with home-cooked food; the inn is located over a water mill. We were greeted with ice cold drinks and fresh cherries from the garden.

Tonight's homemade dinner was made with fresh vegetables from Mercedes’ ngarden and included lightly salted tomatoes with olive oil, avocado & olives, creamy zucchini soup, crusty bread, crispy roasted chicken with lightly breaded zucchini, red pepper and finishing with flan & ice cream with caramel sauce.😋 All accompanied by the light sound of water passing underneath the mill. So relaxing!

Just a heads up that as you walk from Mazarife you'll have your eyes on a water tower just like the one in the Villavante picture above, but don't be fooled - the town you're seeing is La Milla del Paramo, which is off of the Camino route. Villavante is a great coffee & breakfast spot a few Km further.

Enjoyed 2 cafe con leches and 3 delicious tortilla patatas (8.80) at St Lucia alberque after about 2 1/2 hours hiking from Mazarife.
Pleasant courtyard inside to sit.

One of the best accommodations I’ve had on the entire Camino. Mercedes is a wonderful host and cook. Felt like a 5 star hotel, definitely highly recommended!

This app and others indicate it is about 28km but our smart watches etc indicated it was more like 32km.

On the far side of Villavante, this is a wonderful old water mill. We were welcomed with a cold beer and snacks. It is so homely and rustic. The home-cooked evening meal and breakfast were filling and tasty. Mercedes is a great host.

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

Walked through Villavante at 10am (hoping for a coffee/breakfast) and everything was closed. Looks closed down for winter.

Camino de Sant…

We stayed at this albergue because we were too tired and didn’t want to continue to Hospital de Obirgo. Albergue was very clean and the lady at reception was very polite and friendly.

Camino de Sant…

This place only survives as it’s the only place in town and it’s geographically a good distance from León for a day’s walk. Don’t stay here. Owner is unfriendly and food isn’t great. Leaving all my reviews at the end of my trip so know full well all the other places I stayed were better as from villavante on I researched and checked reviews on here and elsewhere

Camino de Sant…

This alternative route is away from the main road but is long flat straight and a bit boring?! I had a welcome break here. Breakfast, fresh orange juice and a friendly smile from everyone I met.
