This is a special stay on the Camino and if you are doing the Camino for spiritual reasons you will be happy to have made the choice to fit it in your schedule. It is also first come first served and no reservations. I arrived first at 10am from Larrasoaña and the 18 spots were taken by 12:30. They don’t open until 2:30. Make sure to line up backpacks when you arrive as there was a bit of a dispute from latecomers. There is a room with one bunk bed, one with two bunks and the larger room with 6 bunks. Two bathrooms for 18 people. The nuns are so nice and provide a meaningful reflective experience.

After a tough few days I was in need of a rest, and Zabaldika was perfect.

The albergue was spotless, communal vegetarian dinner was simple and tasty (lentil soup, tortilla and salad, yoghurt)

What makes Zabaldika special is the welcome from the sisters and hospitaleros. I was lucky enough to arrive on the Fiesta de Corazón Jesús, and the day the sisters renew their vows, so there was a special concert in the evening.

It is a gentle, welcoming spot, and I would recommend to anyone needing a rest!

I was so looking forward to this true pilgrim spirit and prayer time but will be passing by on about 25th March. Way too early 🥲

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

Best stay so far on the Camino. The pilgrim blessing in the evening before the lovely dinner I highly recommend. Everyone is included, no matter of nationality. And the sisters of the parish are so sweet. Staff is volonteers and takes good care of everyone. Everything is so clean and really comfortable.

Camino de Sant…

Wonderful! Very clean and the guys who run the albergue are lovely and offered me ice tea and a rest before checking in. We made dinner together and it was great. The nuns are super sweet and we had a lovely time in the church together with songs and sharing time.

Camino de Sant…

I arrived super late during the afternoon and exhausted and there was no room at the inn. However, the nuns fed me with an amazing community dinner and I stayed the night on the front entrance of the church. It was a cold night but the nuns gave me chocolate and warm blankets. In summary, this was one of the most memorable places/ experiences on my camino. That morning we went to mass and then left on the trail!
