While not as personal as some, facilities are great
Would happily come again, be it meals, washing or beds, excellent prices.. very clean.

Beds were comfortable. Water was hot. No hand soap in any of the bathrooms and when I pointed it out they said someone would come change the soap but it never happened and I stayed two nights. Did not enjoy my interaction with the guy who checked me in. Not what I needed after walking all day and the

I’ve just spoken to the guy on reception, who has been working since 7am this morning and will finish his shift at 12 midnight. I think it’s understandable that he may feel a bit fed up with pilgrims at times…<3

I’ve spent two nights here and it’s an Albergue that provides almost everything a pilgrim could want, for a fantastic price in León (where everything seems to be more expensive).
The guy on reception is OK but has a fixed view of how pilgrims should behave and, from my experience, can be abrupt and unfriendly if you don’t comply with that view.
I dined and breakfasted in the canteen restaurant on the first evening and morning (9€ & 3€), which was good value and the food was plentiful and tasty. They change the menu every day and seem to serve a choice of things which also include salad and yogurt or fruit.
On day 2 I discovered that there’s a small dining room and kitchen in the basement, with microwave, small fridge, two cooler hobs of 4 rings each and enough pots and crockery for several people to use simultaneously, so you can buy food and cook for yourself. It seems to be Albergue policy not to tell pilgrims this, as I didn’t meet anyone who had been told, all had found out for themselves by talking to other pilgrims.
The dining room (3 small tables and 13 chairs in all, with microwave & fridge) is open all the time, if you want somewhere to sit & write, plan your route or eat your own breakfast. The kitchen is open to cook in from 10am to 22.30.
It’s a well equipped Albergue in my view (no hand washing of clothes, only machine option available) just a little impersonal…but great value for money.

Phoned today and made a reservation for 20th of September in the Albergue and was told the price would be 12€. Nice surprise and great price for León :-)

I arrived yesterday and stayed in a private room with private bath. My shower was warm and blissful and the room was remarkably clean as was the bed.

Breakfast 3€ - OJ, Cafe con leche, Two toasted pieces of bread with ham and queso. Butter. Jam. Empanada. And pick two of the following : small croissant, mini muffin, breakfast cake, mini toasts. Not a buffet. Pay at check in and get a ticket or pay when you get to end of food service line.

Dinner 9€ - meh. Roommates didn’t like it very much. I went somewhere else.

Church tour was great 530 in the lobby.

Beds are squeaky. But you only have 6 to a room with your own bathroom.

Man doing checking during the day is a pleasure. The switch at 4 pm to the second man is not the greatest. He is mostly rude.

Secure bike storage with a code.

Decent location.

Although this is for pilgrims only young adults get credentials to stay here while in Leon. Not a major issue. Closing time of hostel is midnight.

Coffe vending machine in the lobby and a canned drink vending machine. They give you safety sheet and pillow case on check-in.

Would stay again.
