The Road

Caminoen passerer gennem de små landsbyer Padrís og A Canosa, før den går ned til Lires.

TO MUXÍA NOTE: Efter Castrexe, men før Padrís, er der pile malet i RØDT, som angiver en 'kystnær' mulighed til Muxía, som drejer til venstre og følger kysten til Lires. Denne mulighed tilføjer 1,1 km til ruten, men giver en meget bedre udsigt og mulighed for at tage en pause på stranden.

Camino de Sant… (ikke efterprøvet)

There are hardly any markings for this route. I had to download alltrails to be able to find and follow it. In some places it felt quite sketchy- right along the cliff edges and track very overgrown. Got lost a couple of times despite having the all trails map.

Having said that, the views were stunning. I eventually made it to fisterre (walked muxia to fisterre) pretty exhausted!

Camino de Sant… (ikke efterprøvet)

I walked the coastal route from the beach adjacent to Padrís. I saw 0 red arrows until I hooked back up to a dirt road approaching Lires. For the record, this is not a beach route, it’s along a cliff side. Gorgeous, some of the most incredible views I’ve seen on the Camino (starting in Porto and through Fisterra). But this is not an easy route. There is steep incline and sections of scrambling. The trail is also not intuitive, as it goes through a nature preserve with multiple trails. If you want an easy-to-follow route, this isn’t it. But if you are looking for something stunning, and you’re willing to loosely head north without trail markings, consider it. I saw some green paint markings indicating the trail when it was unclear, and two signs that said “Camino Faro.” This route added about 3 miles/6 km, but again, I don’t think all of it was the Camino.

Just before entering Castrexe turn left to the marvellous beach. A idyllic spot for picnic. The sea/ocean/looks dangerous: no swim
