Det siges, at de ovne, der producerede kalk til opførelsen af katedralen, lå her i Castañeda. Pilgrimme bar råvarerne hertil fra Triacastela og byttede dem til kalk, som de bar til Santiago.

The Road

Det går op ad bakke igen, efterfulgt af en jævn nedstigning til dalen nedenfor, stejl på visse steder.

Enjoyed a nice cold beer here on the way to Azura with lovely views of the hills.

We stopped here early and really enjoyed sipping drinks while watching the other pilgrims pass by on a sunny afternoon. The habitacion privado was basic but spacious, as was the bath. We were delighted to do a load of laundry in a machine. A great value that has what you need.

The No Pilgrim bar is not that great. Overpriced and food is marginal. Keep walking a little ways to next town. Beautiful spots there. May 2023

Camino de Sant…

This is a great place to stop for a coffee, play the guitar, spend the night or just have a pilgrim chat. All donativo and a unique experience. Most recommendable!
