De to muligheder mødes igen i Boimil.

The Road

There is a bar/shop at 7 km from Parga. Also at 17 km from Parga in Suavila ( next to the church, 150 m detour from the route).

Just a heads up there is no ATM here and the nearest one after is Sabrado 40km away . Get cash before if required.

It’s a truck/lorry/camion stop outside of Baamonde and is very basic. No Wi-Fi in rooms and the restaurant is closed on Sunday. The adjacent restaurant is ok and the manager is friendly and helpful. Stop at the supermercado in town before going to the hostal if you need supplies.

Whether you stay there or just want a break the restaurant at KM101 in Baamonde has delicious hot meals, the menu del dia was amazing Gallego classics.

Not only is the new route wonderful, so scenic and shorter, there are services. About 7km from Baamonde is Parga Natura (84km to Santiago) a beautifully remodeled historic home with 7 rooms, delightful owners who offer excellent hot menu (optional) and breakfast included in precisely the right location for those who want to go further than Baamonde. There are also small shops in Parga village, plus two bars with hot food between here and Sobrado. The app should build out this new route since the info about the towns that follow are only from the older, longer route.

Camino de Sant…

I really recommend the new route. It’s mostly a back country road with gorgeous scenery. At about the 77 km mark (the monument numbers change when you take this route) is a place for something to eat and drink. The walk for me was about 3 hours. Really pleasant owners and the food was great. It’s called Taberna de Nodia. Buen Camino!

Camino de Sant…

The new route from baamonde to sobrado is well marked. And as the comment above mentions there is a place at the 77 mark for snacks etc. The surface is a mixture of tarmac, packed dirt, clay and genuine trail. A lot of scenic variety. The mileage from baamonde using the complementaria and then joining this route - which doesn’t add more than a KM clocks at 37km. So the person who did this in three hours (see above) is worth capturing and dissecting in a lab. For me it took 6 hours and I was bombing.

Tjis new Camino is wonderful. Walking it now, July 10-19.

Camino de Sant…

The route on the map is incorrect. It appears to follow the bicycle path, but had a lot of carretera and is not well marked - there aren’t any of the stone posts with the km. listed, only occasionally arrows.
