Fiesta

San José fejres den 19. marts.

The Road

I Requejada drejer caminoen til højre og følger den travle og støjende N-611 hele vejen til Barreda.

Camino de Sant… (ikke efterprøvet)

The albergue closed with covid and never reopened. I was told this today. Had to walk to Santillana del Mar.

Camino de Sant…

The albergue In Requejada is very basic. You and the few pilgrims that stay here are the only ones in the building. You pay (6€) and get your credential stamped across the street at the bar. Downstairs there are group not private showers -like gym in high school and two toilets. A sink for washing clothes by hand. Upstairs are two dorm rooms with each 3 sets of bunk beds. A small common area with a small table and chairs and mini fridge. Two more bathrooms are upstairs. There is a large patio with a small outdoor table and chairs. There us clothes line and clothes rack for drying clothes.
**The electricity was off at two different breakers. To get hot water to shower and to turn on lights— both breakers need to be on. I accessed them easily as they were in plain view.
Dining- if you walk further down there are two restaurants- I saw them in the morning as we left. There is also a Lupa grocery store.
It met our needs after a 40k day out of Santander. If I could have walked on there were many nicer places to stay and eat. But when the body is done -it’s done. Still grateful for this simple albergue.
