The Road

Has a bar/ restaurant and pilgrim meal for dinner ( extra cost) and breakfast either full or continental ( no services on tomorrow’s st as he so decided to get both and stock up on lunch supplies!

I happened to stumble upon this gem of a café/hotel because the entrance to the patio looked so charming. I turned out to be a really beautiful peaceful place to have a coffee. It’s a very old building, restored with lots of love and attention to detail.

This place is nicely located. Upon check in, I was greeted warmly and given information about the town. My room was very clean. I’d recommend it.

Route markers now take pilgrims through a mix of small roads and paths via Bueño. This brings you into Colunga on a back road past the local primary (grade) school. If you happen to be walking past when parents are dropping off or picking up their children, take extra care: it’s narrow and windy, there will be a lot of cars trying to pass each other or park and drivers’ attention may well be elsewhere.

Camino de Sant…

Detour to the old Camino to visit bar caleya indi Great food with a variety of interesting vegan and vegetarian options. If you are walking the Camino del Norte this is worth the 30m detour or 5 euro cab ride from Colunga to stock up on nutritious deliciousness. Plus they speak English which helped me ordering.

Camino de Sant…

Very pilgrim friendly. Owner/staff very nice and helpful. Breakfast excellent and they gave us a picnic lunch as no cafes for 14 kms.
They offered laundry service which was just what I needed as I had been hand washing for 2 weeks!!
Lovely room with my own terrace and common garden area available to sit and relax and have a drink if you desired! Definitely recommended.

Camino de Sant…

There’s a cafe opposite the minymas supermarket on the main street that is to be avoided. The staff for some reason enjoy turning down their noses to pilgrims.
