San Roque er mere et picnicområde end noget andet og ligger i en kurve på den nedlagte vej, der snoede sig op over bakken. Det er godt til et hvil, og her ligger et meget venligt albergue, som dog åbnede sent.

The Road

Caminoen passerer landsbyen Amarela, mens den snor sig ned ad bakke og ved enhver lejlighed forsøger at undgå hovedvejen, indtil den ankommer til Estorde.

Completely agree with (and very grateful for) the comment below! We had a beautiful stay at San Roque thanks to our two fabulous volunteers Eduardo & Juan who spent about 4 hours preparing a magnificent meal. Don’t be put off by the exterior, inside it’s very homely and we cosied up by a warm fire listening to Dire Straits to write our diaries before dinner. The showers were hot and the beds were fine. This place is a beating heart of Camino spirit and we were so grateful for such a beautiful experience.

Albergue San Roque. This was the best stay of my whole Camino! Nice, clean area, BIG donativo dinner and breakfast. But most important people! I felt really like home, cared and loved by the hospitalerios. Must have on your Camino Finisterra. Will be back next time!
