The bedroom and bed was clean but the room was really cold as the general wall radiator was not turned on. The room had a portable radiator, but it was not big enough to heat the whole room at night. As a result I pulled out the winter blanket which was kept in a plastic case and used it. Unfortunately the next morning I found I had 4 bites on my neck. I'm not sure if it was flea bites or bed bug bites. My husband who slept on the same bed did not get bitten. So I assume it was the winter blanket that was the culprit as I was the only one that used it. I don't think it was the bed, so no infestation.

The hostel also has many rules and it's plastered all over the walls. We used a garden room to eat some snacks in the day but found it locked at dinner time. It's a clean and convenient place to stay but because of the so many restrictions, it didn't feel very welcoming.

After a sleepless night in an Albergue last night I decided to stay at O Castelo. The lady in charge was very kind and offered payment in cash or card. This place is spotless and so far very comfortable . I asked her for help in getting a taxi to take me to Albergue is booked for tonight(and cancelled) but my back pack had been sent there. Instead of helping me with a taxi she organised her husband to go and pick up my backpack pack and bring it here. I highly recommend staying here. Hostel is on the way and there’s a nice church close by for pilgrims mass if your interested. Just down the road you have cafes, supermarket and specialty shops (food).

This albergue was very nice. We had a 4 bed room with bath (no bunks). Laundry facility tiny and limited drying space. The tricky part was the host. She checked us in, took our cash and virtually vanished. We had many questions and needed bag transfer and she was no where to be found. Disappointing.

Camino de Sant…

CASH ONLY. Climb up stairs. Free coffee and tea. Nice kitchen. Has terrace. Friendly staff. Had a private room with a shared bath and in my room I actually have a little sink as well room is about 11x13. Twin bed. Clean and I have my own balcony with a hanger to dry my clothes on. I haven't seen the bathroom shower yet.
